Insurance

Anyone booking a holiday with us is required to have adequate insurance cover. We will ask for proof of this at the time of booking or at the latest, upon final payment of the holiday.
We recommend a policy which includes such things as helicopter rescue costs both in Italy and Switzerland.

We also recommend you to acquire a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which replaces the old E111 certificate, for comprehensive medical insurance throughout the EU and Switzerland. You can apply for this online or obtain a form from any Post Office which you then complete and send off.

Please remember to carry the EHIC together with your insurance certificate at all times during your holiday with us.

Please read our Terms and Conditions page.

Travel information

Flights: There are regular economical flights from several UK airports to Milan. Our nearest airport is Milan/Bergamo (Orio al Serio) with transfer time of approximately 90 minutes. However we can also meet groups at Milan Linate or Malpensa airports and arriving from other international airports depending on the number of the group (max 8) and time of arrival. Try Ryanair, Easyjet, and Jet 2 for low-cost airfares.

Fly-drive & Car hire: If you prefer to be independent and have your own transport while you are here you can easily book a hire car at any of the above mentioned airports. For information on how to get here please contact us and we will be willing to provide you with details.

Self Drive:

You may prefer to drive here or join us on a holiday while already touring other parts of Italy. You can join us on our walks and take advantage of our organised Hotels. Please contact us for prices and further details.

Level of Difficulty

Our walks are available for anyone with a reasonably good level of fitness. However it must be taken into consideration the fact that all walks take place in a mountain environment with the subsequent changes in altitude, types of terrain and climate. No special equipment or training is required. (Refer to Clothing and Accessories for further information). The length of the walks will depend on the ability of the group (maximum 8 people) but will approximately range from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 7 hours.

Clothing and Accessories

Considering the environment you should be prepared for weather changes, so please also bring along some warmer clothing including gloves and waterproof garments. However, a good sun protection is also advisable. Lightweight hiking boots which are well wore in and with good grip and ankle support are highly recommended, as are walking sticks. You will also need a rucksack (25-30 litres) to carry personal items (extra clothing, raingear, passport, camera, water bottle etc.), and for a packed lunch on certain trips. Please also bring along swimwear as a visit to the thermal spa baths may be included as an optional extra.
